Bulls Bucking – Weatherford Texas
Looking back, one of our greatest experiences which we always like to share, that we now believe hooked us on bucking bulls, was the American Bucking Bulls classic event held in Weatherford, Texas a few years back. It was such a tremendous experience for us that we would like to share a glimpse of it with you.
After a hot and sultry day in the Summer of 2007, where even some bull owners applied shade cover to the holding pens, the night time fell with a cooling breeze felt by the spectators in the stands. It seemed like the whole town of Weatherford and from miles around came out to witness the battle that was about to ensue on this night.
The stands seemed electric with a capital E. Many now famous bucking bulls, with the likes of Red Kat, Little Big Man, Mataska, Red Devil, Super Beast, Grey Dog, Crazy Train, Troubadour, Charlie Bullware, and What I Say, were assembled to perform for their owners and fans in the stands in this final go round. One performer, who was in the lead in points from his bucking performance he put on the night before, was the seemingly little known, Dirty White Bull II.
My wife and I were new to the business and were proud owners of 50% of this animal. Could he hold off the other competitors with the narrow lead he had established the night before? That was the burning question. In order to do so, he would need to put up another flawless run because, sitting in 2nd, poised to take over the lead, was the now greatest of PBR bucking bulls, Troubador of Moreno Bucking Bulls.
